A rare and exceptionally well-presented 1993 Mercedes-Benz 320CE Cabriolet with period AMG enhancements, offering the perfect combination of elegant open-top motoring, renowned Mercedes-Benz engineering and impeccable long-term ownership.

This car was imported new into Hong Kong by Mercedes-Benz main agent Zung Fu Motors in April 1993 and was first registered on 15 April 1994. At the time, the SL models proved the more popular choice, making the CE Cabriolet a far rarer sight. From new, the car underwent a dealer-installed AMG body kit and suspension conversion by the supplying Mercedes-Benz main dealer, giving it the desirable period AMG appearance while retaining its refined grand touring character.

The current owner purchased the car in Hong Kong in June 2006, when it had covered just 76,544 kilometres and had four previous owners. Throughout its life in Hong Kong, the car benefited from regular servicing and maintenance, predominantly by respected Mercedes-Benz specialist Auto Dynamics Hong Kong. An extensive history file, including maintenance records and invoices, accompanies the car.

In 2019, the car was imported to the UK. Although already right-hand drive, it was professionally prepared for UK use with the headlamp beam pattern adjusted and the instrument cluster converted to miles per hour. At the time of import, the odometer showed 132,749 kilometres (approximately 82,437 miles).

Following its arrival in the UK, the car underwent an extensive refurbishment carried out by leading specialists. The interior was completely retrimmed in new leather by Class Automotive of Chobham, complemented by the installation of a new convertible roof. The body was also professionally resprayed by Multi-Tech Coachworks, Chobham, changing the original Azurite finish to the striking Azul metallic seen today.

Since then, the car has been in storage with ourselves and has been used sparingly during the owner's summer visits to the UK.

Behind the wheel, the 320CE remains exactly as Mercedes intended: a refined, solidly engineered grand tourer from the celebrated pre-Chrysler era. The smooth six-cylinder engine delivers effortless performance, with the automatic transmission providing seamless kickdown when required.
