brake overhaul 

Specification for full brake overhaul to OE finish:

OUR TYPICAL JOURNEY:

  • Install car to ramp.
    Remove wheels.
    Drain down brake fluid from entire system.

  • Remove brake pads.
    Remove callipers.
    Remove flexible brake hoses.
    Inspect metal pipes and ends for corrosion replace if necessary.

  • Dismantle callipers to individual parts and inspect.
    Discard all rubber items and order replacements.
    Shot blast callipers and carriers.
    Immerse in light acid for 24 hours to remove all hidden rust.

  • Despatch to electro platers - re-plate to manufacturer finish.
    Receive items from platers and wash through by ultra sonic cleaner.
    Build up callipers with new pistons and seals with rubber grease.
    Pressure test callipers on bench. 

  • Fit new discs.
    Install callipers back on car with new brake pads and flexible hoses.
    Bleed brake system twice.
    Adjust handbrake.

  • Refit wheels and torque.
    Remove from ramp and test.
