The third generation Challenger was a huge hit for Dodge with over 800,000 produced from 2008 through to 2023. Over that period the Challenger was offered in a wide variety of specifications, from 3.5l V6 to 6.4l V8 and 300bhp to over 1,000bhp, showing the versatility and popularity of the design.
This early car is a desirable SRT8, which came with the 425 bhp 6.1-liter Hemi V8 engine and has been specified with a 6 speed manual gearbox, rather than the more common automatic. Standard features include Brembo brakes, sport suspension, LSD, and 20-inch forged wheels as well as bi-xenon headlamps, heated leather sport seats, keyless go, air conditioning and cruise control.
This car is very largely standard, with the exception of a Flowmaster exhaust and K&N airfilter which improve the already incredible sound of the V8. As such it is a car that can be used and enjoyed “as is” or as the basis for further development and tuning into a highly unique muscle car.
These cars gained rave reviews by the press at the time and have developed a real following amongst muscle car fans for their looks, power and character. During a time when cars were becoming ever quieter, more refined and efficient, the Challenger is a vivid reminder of the thrills a traditional muscle car can offer the driver.
Our car has recorded just under 33,000 miles, with most of those miles being done in the first 4 years of it’s life. Since 2015 the car has done barely 3,000 miles, but has been MOT’d every year and will be will be freshly MOT'd prior to sale. It has been professionally stored with us for the last 3 years and little used by the owner due to ill health. He is now looking for his pride and joy to find its next loving owner…someone equally smitten by the car as he was when he first bought it 8 years ago.
