The Porsche 997 was launched in 2004 as an evolution of the 996, with refined mechanical hardware, but more significant interior and exterior styling. The early cars were fitted with the same 3.6l flat six engine, now producing 321 bhp, and driven through a 6 speed manual or 5 speed automatic gearbox. As with all previous and subsequent 911s the base car spawned many variations to cater for all buyers, from the top down cruiser to the track day warrior.
The 997 received almost unanimously positive reviews from the worldwide motoring press and is considered by many to be the sweet spot of the modern 911 range. It is small enough and analogue enough to feel largely uncorrupted by modern safety requirements, but makes use of contemporary Porsche technology and manufacturing standards to create a pure driving machine with strong reliability and comfort.
The 997 we are delighted to offer for sale is finished in Seal Grey, with Black leather interior and benefits from Cruise Control, Navigation and Telephone, BOSE Sound System, CD Changer and Leather Dash. It has had 7 prior keepers and has just been freshly serviced and had the coolant pipes replaced.
